Soybean Genesis Class 4 Gets Underway
With a great turnout and fascinating speakers, the fourth class of South Dakota Soybean Genesis Leaders began their 4-seminar series on December 13, 2024.
Twenty-four members of the soybean industry met on campus at Mitchell Technical College for a daylong seminar featuring statewide, national, and global soybean organizations.
Jerry Schmitz, Executive Director of SD Soybean Research and Promotion Council & SD Soybean Association, started the day with an overview of how organization members and leaders handle the checkoff program and advocacy work. The class also heard from representatives of the United Soybean Board, American Soybean Association, and the World Initiative for Soy in Human Health - with a special emphasis on leadership opportunities in each organization.
