Soybean Genesis Class IV Visits Pierre for Legislative Session
The Soybean Genesis leaders program headed to the state Capitol in Pierre for their third session, Feb. 3-4, 2025. Many had never seen the South Dakota legislature in person and appreciated the opportunity to view the legislative process. Agenda items included lunch with South Dakota Soybean and pork producers, floor session observation of the House and Senate, and opportunities to learn about current bills and legislative issues with elected representatives and registered lobbyists. A highlight was the House Ag Committee hearing testimony from members of the public. Participants also enjoyed the Ag Fest social and an opportunity to meet with Governor Larry Rhoden.
