DaNita Murray

DaNita Murray grew up on her family’s farm near Milbank, South Dakota. She received her bachelor’s degree from South Dakota State University, Brookings, SD and juris doctor from Drake University School of Law, Des Moines, IA.

Murray served as both Chief Counsel and Policy Advisor for then Chairman Pat Roberts (R-KS) on the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, & Forestry during the 2018 farm bill. DaNita also served as Counsel for that Committee on P.L. 114-216, the National Bioengineered Food Disclosure Standard. Additionally, she served as Senior Counsel for then Chairman Frank Lucas (OK-03) on the U.S. House Committee on Agriculture during the 2014 farm bill. President George W. Bush also selected Murray as a political appointee at the U.S. Department of Agriculture from 2003-06. 

Most recently, Murray was a partner in the Food and Agriculture Group at FGS Global, Washington, D.C. She is currently the Executive Director at South Dakota Corn, working on behalf of corn producers across that state.
